BLOG 4 : Receiving Tourism Information

          “Information is a POWER.” It is truth whether information is correct or misunderstanding. Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) is a public policy research institute providing technical analysis to various public agencies. Its legal form is that of a private non-profit foundation. It provides technical analysis to various public agencies to help formulate policies to support long-term economic and social development in Thailand.

-What is the most influential source of information for tourist decision - making about their vacation?

ANS         Thailand Development and Research Institute (TDRI)

-What is the effect of the INTRAMA 1990-1991 World Destination Monitor survey on the tourism industry in Thailand?

ANS         The survey in 1990-1991 by the INTRAMA World Destination Monitor, Thailand was ranked on the second place where the tourists were likely to be cheated in Asia. The tourists may feel betrayed and are more likely to go somewhere else for the similar products or services. Thailand may also get a bad reputation as a deceptive country, which means decreased revenues in the future.

-What should be done to solve the problem?

ANS     The government help support and reconstruct credibility about tourism of Thailand. 
Many campaigns were started to promote the site and local culture in Thailand such as Unseen Thailand, Amazing Thailand is a slogan to promote about tourism by The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). 
To create a good image for the tourists and attract tourists back to Thailand again, and also creates jobs for local people as well as instill the tourists with a strong sense of environmental and cultural preservation.

SPECIALIZED TOURISM

Cultural Tourism: The subset of tourism concerned with a country or region's culture. The temple has always played a significant role as a social, educational, and spiritual center.

Heritage Tourism: The traveling to experience the places, artifacts and activities that authentically represent the stories and people of the past and present.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is the world heritage of Ayutthaya in Thailand.

Rural Tourism: The traveling in village or rural that lifestyle characteristics and the creative works that are special identity are distinguished.
 
 Akha life in a simple a self-sufficient lifestyle. Ancient ceremonies is a witness and support inspiring community efforts to preserve culture and forest.

Cycling Tourists: Cycle tourism is a travel experience that focuses on the bicycle as the primary mode of transport. Cycle tourism combines particularly suggestive localities (whether mountain range, countryside or urban scene) that you can easily visit on your bike.

Regional Tourism: is a tourism activity which focuses attention in that particular region only. For example: regional tourism in Washington Dc would involve tourism in that state alone. 
Tuscany in Italy, land of art and culture and the waters is healing properties.

Educational Tourism: Tourism that aims at acquiring certain knowledge through the designed programmes can be called educational tourism.
Thai Dance. Thai Dance is characterized by slow, gracious, almost hypnotizing hand movements.

Travelling for Health: The tourism in natural source and culture source so to relax and learning how to maintain a healthy body give mind get enjoyment. For example; Massage, Meditation practice or Herbal heat.

Environment Tourism: Ecotourism is a form of tourism that involves visiting natural areas in the remote wilderness or rural environments.
